MONROE, LA – The 18thAnnual Wine Over Water hosted by the University of Louisiana Monroe Alumni Association is set for 7:00-10:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24. Established as a signature event at Ƶapp, Wine Over Water will be on the Ƶapp bridge over tranquil Bayou Desiard on Northeast Drive.

Tickets are $70, and the evening’s attire is dressy casual. Tickets are available online at , by calling (318) 342-5420, or at the Laird Weems Center located at 4400 Bon Aire Drive. Guests can enjoy strolling across the Ƶapp bridge while sampling hors d’oeuvres from these local restaurants:2 Sweets Bakery, All Things Amazen, Another Connie’s Concoction, Aramark, Avocado’s, Beautiful Blessings Treats and More, Catahoula’s, CC’s Coffee House, Chicken Salad Chick, Coca-Cola United, Cotton, Dabarberchef Mobile Eatery LLC, Danken Trail BBQ, Delta Biscuit, Fieldhouse Bar & Grill, Firehouse Subs, Gardens of Somerset, GudEaatz, JAC’s Craft Smokehouse, Leave ‘Em Vegan, Okaloosa, Panda Express, Roll Play, Texas Roadhouse, The Cookout, The Fat Pelican, Thurman’s Food Factory, Viet House Coffee and Tea, and Waterfront Grill.

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits will provide wines, and Marsala Beverage will provide beer.

A commemorative wine glass, sunset boat rides on the bayou with B&L Marine, live entertainment from The Calvin Presley Band and DJ Worm, sponsored by Land 3 Architect, and fireworks sponsored by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Louisiana will make it a night to remember.

The Cork Pull is back by popular demand. With more than 50 bottles of wine up for grabs, guests can purchase a cork for as low as $10 and take home a mystery bottle of wine. Corks will also be available for $25 for higher price point wines.

“Wine Over Water at Ƶapp is an absolutely delightful experience,” said 2024 attendee Taylor Woods. “Sipping on delicious wines while taking in the serene views of Bayou Desiard made for an evening of pure enjoyment. The atmosphere is always the perfect mix of elegance and relaxation, with great company, delicious pairings from local vendors, and a breathtaking sunset to top it all off,” continued Woods.

Wine Over Water benefits Ƶapp scholarships, alumni chapters, and the work of the Ƶapp Alumni Association in its mission to support Ƶapp in “changing lives.” The Alumni Association connects, engages, and fosters relationships with current and future alumni to one another, and the university, through communications, events, and programs.

The event also supports the Spirit of the Warhawk Endowed Scholarship, which helps local students pursue their undergraduate degrees at Ƶapp. Ticket purchases ensure students in Northeast Louisiana can continue to strive for academic excellence.
